  1. The 41-room Murrayshall House Hotel is a charming four-pearl country retreat set on a sprawling estate near the village of Scone that includes two 18-hole golf courses. A variety of rooms and suites are available, all traditionally furnished, with lovely views over the grounds. Rooms include flat-screen TVs and tea- and coffee-making facilities; some might find the old-fashioned decor, while in keeping with the property, a bit dated. A self-catering lodge is also available for groups and families. The renowned Old Masters restaurant is a fine-dining establishment, and there’s also the more casual Club Bar and Restaurant, as well as two bars. Catering to business needs, the hotel offers several meeting rooms and conference facilities for a variety of functions. The hotel is also a popular wedding venue and can accommodate up to 130 people.

  2. Housed in a grandiose and historic stone manor house, the Atholl Palace Hotel, with its turrets and regal hilltop position overlooking beautiful grounds and parkland, is a sight to behold. The upscale property offers a bevy of activities, be it tennis on one of its courts, a pamper session at the Lavender Spa, or a swim in the indoor pool. There’s even a museum dedicated to the hotel's rich history, which dates back to 1871. Its 106 rooms, all with lovely views over the grounds or nearby mountains, are spacious and tastefully decorated with contemporary furnishings;  a variety of self-catering cottages, lodges, and apartments are also available. The hotel has a restaurant that serves locally sourced Scottish fare, and an attractive bar with a fireplace, but guests can also easily walk to many of Pitlochry’s restaurants and bars. The hotel has several meeting rooms and event space, as well as a conference center that can accommodate up to 400 people.

  3. The 130-room Fisher’s Hotel is a mid-range property that sits midway on Pitlochry’s main street, which is filled with shops and restaurants. A warm and inviting atmosphere is coupled with traditionally decorated cozy interiors -- think fireplaces, lounges, and such old-world details as damask wallpaper, brass chandeliers, and gilt framed paintings. The hotel has event space that includes an elegant ballroom and hosts a variety of functions such as holiday parties and weddings. Breakfast is included in the room rate, and is served daily in the hotel’s restaurant, where guests can have dinner as well. The hotel also has two bars, which serve a variety of pub food for lunch and dinner in a more casual atmosphere.
