Bottom Line

The mid-range Jurys Inn Belfast is ideally located in the "Golden Mile" of Belfast's city center, within walking distance of the train station and many tourist sights. The hotel has 190 spacious rooms, an on-site restaurant and bar, along with a Costa Coffee outlet. Decor is streamlined and straightforward, like most hotels in the Jurys chain, and rooms include multi-channel flat-screen TVs, and coffee- and tea-making facilities. There's a breakfast buffet (not included), 24-hour room service, and free Wi-Fi throughout. As an alternative, the three-pearl Wellington Park Hotel has lower rates and modern amenities like iPod docks, but room decor is a bit drab.

Public spaces decorated in a simple, contemporary style

Jurys Inn Belfast is housed in a six-story red-brick building on a busy city-center corner. The neighboring buildings are an interesting mix of neo-Gothic and modern architecture, housing retail and commercial businesses. The hotel's public spaces have a clean, up-to-date look and pleasant if nondistinctive decor. The lobby's complementary color palette includes a violet-toned patterned carpet, lime-green sofas, and violet and gray armchairs. The hotel attracts an even mix of both leisure and business travelers, and is popular with families.

Located in Belfast's “Golden Mile” in the city center

Jurys Inn Belfast is located on a busy intersection in a lively area of pubs, bars, and restaurants, known as the “Golden Mile." The Grand Opera House is across the street, along with the Assembly Buildings Conference and Exhibition Center. Many other tourist attractions are within walking distance, including the Victoria Square shopping district. Transportation links are excellent: The closest train station is Great Victoria Street, which is about a five-minute walk from the hotel. Also, the “Hop On Hop Off” city tour buses stop in front of the hotel.

Spacious rooms with flat-screen TVs and coffeemakers, but basic chain-hotel decor

The 190 rooms at Jurys Inn Belfast, which come as Singles, Doubles, and Triples, are spacious and well-maintained. Decor is in coordinated shades of beige and brown, and the overall effect is generic and muted. Bathrooms are on the small side and utilitarian-looking with shower/tub combos and free-standing sinks. Family Rooms can sleep up to two adults and two children. ADA rooms are also available. All rooms come with flat-screen TVs, coffee- and tea-making facilities, work desks, and free Wi-Fi. Standard Rooms do not include irons. The Superior Family and Triple Rooms also have pull-out sofas. Be aware that street-facing rooms can pick up outside noise.

On-site restaurant, bar, cafe, and room service

Jurys Inn Belfast serves a hot buffet breakfast each morning in its restaurant, and while it's not included in the room rate, the price is reasonable. The restaurant is also open for dinner, and a children's menu is available. An adjacent bar is open in the afternoon and evening for drinks and light meals, including lunch. The hotel also houses a Costa Coffee outlet, which offers a range of different coffees and hot drinks. For business meetings, the hotel offers six equipped meeting rooms, a computer and printer are available for guests' use in the lobby. While there's no on-site parking, the staff will arrange for parking at nearby lots for discount rates. Wi-Fi is free throughout.
