Location is outside the city center (there's a metro stop nearby)
Not much to do in the immediate area surrounding the hotel
Vincci Bit is a modern, upper-middle-range hotel with an artsy focus. Its decor -- particularly its mural-decorated hallways -- is the hotel's most notable feature and makes it stand out against others in this category. It's located outside the city center in a residential neighborhood, and attracts a mix of leisure and business travelers. Vincci Bit's location close to the convention center makes it a good choice for visitors with events to attend there. For the leisure traveler, the beach and a shopping mall are within walking distance. Barcelona proper is too far to reach by foot, so guests may want to make use of the metro (there is a station nearby). The hotel itself has a few amenities, including a small, rooftop pool; a chic lounge bar; and an a la carte restaurant. Guest rooms are clean and comfortable, notable for the plush beds and pillow menu.
Entering the hotel is a little like entering a modern art gallery.
There's a lot of personality packed into this 177-room hotel, and it starts in the lobby. A big "Hello" welcomes guests -- literally, it is scrawled across the front desk. This focus on fun, eye-catching modern art continues throughout the hotel, with every hallway decorated with graffiti murals by national and international artists. Collections of artists' work -- from photographers to illustrators -- are found on various floors.
Outside the city center, near a shopping mall and convention center
Outside the hustle and bustle of Barcelona's city center is Vincci Bit. About 30 minutes from the airport via car and walking distance to the metro, the neighborhood where the hotel is located is a bit more rough around the edges than the city center. Such a location is not so unusual for hotels situated in the same areas as convention centers, which is the case with Vincci Bit. In addition to the CCIB convention center nearby, it's also a stone's throw from Diagonal Mar Shopping Center, which has restaurants in addition to shopping. Tourist attractions within walking distance include the Forum and the beach.
Rooms have comfortable beds, modern decor, and a pillow menu
Larger-than-average rooms and the larger-than average beds inside add up to a comfortable stay at Vincci Bit. The comfort factor is furthered by the pillow menu offered to guests. The clean, white linens make for a modern look that is dressed up by pops of bright color and funky artwork on the walls. Mini-fridges in the rooms are convenient, as are the hairdryers and free Wi-Fi. The modern bathrooms, and in particular the solid water pressure, are something more typically found in pricier hotels. But while there is little noise from the street, there is noise from other guest rooms -- and bathrooms -- that comes through the vents.
A rooftop pool and lounge bar are two standout amenities
While the Vincci Bit caters to both leisure and business travelers, it's not designed with the idea of the hotel-as-destination. There are few amenities to speak of, but the small, rooftop pool (only open seasonally); chic lounge bar; and a la carte restaurant with a fun, modern look are all good options for guests looking to get out of their rooms without leaving the hotel. As is the lovely rooftop sun deck with loungers and tables set up. A small fitness center has a steam bath, but just a few exercise machines. There's also free Wi-fi, plus several functions rooms that can be used for business meetings and other events.
