Take a look at the best party hotels in Eixample.

  1. 360 Hostel Barcelona is a small budget property located within walking distance to the city center in the Eixample District of Barcelona. There are only 13 rooms at the hostel, including two-person rooms and dorms with up to 10 beds. Rooms are simple and bare, offering bunk beds, lockers, and linens -- bathrooms are shared. Features include a spacious communal kitchen, TV and games rooms, and guest computers. The hostel offers a few nice freebies such as coffee and tea, city maps, and nightly activities. Guests rave about the property's friendly atmosphere -- it's a good place for solo travelers in particular -- and cleanliness of rooms and bathrooms. The nearby Primavera Hostel has similar features and more charming rooms.

  2. Geared towards gay men, but hetro-friendly too, the adults-only TWO Hotel Barcelona by Axel is an upper-middle-range property situated about a 10-minute walk from the gay area of Eixample. A main draw is the rooftop terrace, which features a skybar, lounge space, and a year-round pool and whirlpool. Wellness amenities include a small fitness area, a sauna, and in-room massages available by appointment. There's also a lobby bar, and breakfast is on offer for an extra fee. The hotel's 87 single and double rooms are stylish and modern, though the open-format design means open wardrobes and bathrooms that lack privacy. Amenities include flat-screen TVs, minibars, robes, and nice Axel toiletries, plus walk-in rainfall showers. As an alternative, Soho Hotel is another design-conscious property a little closer to Barcelona attractions but with fewer amenities.

  3. Axel Hotel Barcelona is a sleek boutique hotel located in Barcelona's LGBT-friendly Eixample neighborhood that attracts a primarily gay clientele. The 101 rooms and four suites are contemporary and handsome, with flat-screen TVs, bathrobes, and minibars. While most units overlook the city, a few have interior views. On-site amenities include a well-equipped fitness center, a spa with a steam and spa facilities, a narrow rooftop pool area with a whirlpool and bar, and a restaurant -- Nikkei 103 -- serving Japanese-Peruvian fare. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel, though there have been some complaints of spotty connections. Travelers may want to also consider the nearby Olivia Balmes Hotel, which offers similar amenities and larger rooms, though it isn't specifically marketed at LGBT travelers.

  4. Situated on one of the most famous streets in Barcelona, this chic, modern hotel is within walking distance of some of the city's best sights. The Condes’ 126 rooms have understated, Scandinavian-style decor, large windows, and (in some) private balconies. A delicious restaurant, sexy rooftop lounge, and serene terrace are additional highlights. It's one of the best options for the price in Eixample, but those who prefer a location closer to the Plaza de Catalunya and Las Ramblas may want to consider Hotel Pulitzer (though it lacks the Condes de Barcelona's pool).

  5. The Hipstel is a trendy two-pearl hostel with a superb location in the center of the city, close to Barcelona's top shopping and nightlife, and a five-minute walk to public transport. Its 20 rooms and dorms are bright and open, with air-conditioning and lockers, and it has a lot more character than many other hostels in the city. There's plenty of space to chill out, from the TV room to the outside terrace and dining area, and there's a kitchen with a free coffee machine, microwave, and stovetop. A buffet breakfast and a set evening meal are available and there's a program of activities -- including open mic nights. The location is hard to beat for budget travelers, but Hostal River is an alternative closer to Las Ramblas.
