Some guests find rooms too contemporary for the brand
The 226-room Four Seasons Atlanta is a luxury hotel offering excellent service, great dining, and high-end amenities. The property is located in Midtown, near restaurants and shops, and a 10-minute walk to a MARTA stop. Rooms are currently undergoing renovations, and though some guests find the new ones too contemporary for the brand, they’re all sophisticated and plush, with upscale amenities, marble bathrooms, and huge windows offering city views. The indoor saltwater pool is long enough for laps and features a whirlpool and a terrace, while the gym offers personal trainers, saunas, and steam rooms. Breakfast (not included in the standard rate) is a la carte and excellent, and Bar Margot’s all-day menu gets great reviews for taste and quality. Travelers wanting to stay in Downtown may prefer the Ritz-Carlton Atlanta.
Posh property with a happening bar attracting a mix of business travelers and couples
The Four Seasons Atlanta is one of the finest hotels in town, with an exterior and entryway with the scale and decoration one would expect from a southern Four Seasons. With soaring ceilings, a grand marble staircase, massive columns, and stunning crystal chandeliers, the three-tiered lobby is imposing, but velvet seating in navy and gray hues make the space welcoming and pleasant. The rest of the hotel, and in particular the restaurant and bar, are more toned down though still sophisticated, featuring contemporary brass and glass lamps, a stylish mix of leather and crushed velvet, and soft carpets. While this property offers a comprehensive children's program (kid-friendly menus and bedtime cookies, among other perks), the refined atmosphere is better suited for business travelers and couples than for families.
Most guests seem happy to pay some of the highest rates in town for a consistently good stay, but travelers seeking something even more sophisticated may want to compare rates at the Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta, which has wonderful rooms with top-notch bathrooms, an even nicer spa, and solid dining options. The Whitley, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Atlanta Buckhead is a great option in Buckhead for those shopping around for something cheaper but still elegant and upscale. Meanwhile, the W Atlanta - Midtown draws a younger crowd with lower rates, modern rooms, and hip whiskey bar.
Centrally located in the business district of Midtown Atlanta
The Four Seasons Atlanta is well-located for city sights, dining, and highway access. Just a 10-minute walk from the nearest subway station, it is a convenient launching point for Atlanta's attractions, though perhaps slightly farther from the tourist sites than some of its competitors. Still, it is surrounded by plenty of shops and restaurants, and gives guests easy access to everything Atlanta has to offer. Additionally, most area attractions -- including the Fox Theatre, Atlanta Botanical Garden, Piedmont Park, the Woodruff Arts Center, and the High Museum of Art -- can all be found within a five-minute drive of the hotel. Atlanta International Airport is a 20-minute drive from the Four Seasons.
Spacious, elegant rooms with upscale amenities, marble bathrooms, and views
Rooms at the Four Seasons Atlanta are currently being renovated (as of October 2018), and come in two very different styles. Non-renovated units are elegant and classic, with a soft neutral palette, heavy wooden furniture, and golden accents. Refurbished units, however, are more contemporary and sophisticated, with a soft gray color scheme, white padded headboards, white furniture with clean, minimalist lines, and chrome accents. Longtime guests used to the more classic aesthetics find the new decor a tad too modern for the brand, but most others seem to view it as an improvement. Big windows make rooms light and airy, and offer good Midtown or Downtown views. Only units labelled "Terrace" have outdoor spaces.
Amenities consist of large flat-screen TVs, Nespresso machines, DVD players, and wonderfully stocked minibars. Standard Wi-Fi is provided free of charge, and upgrades are available for a fee. Safes and twice-daily housekeeping with turndown service are also provided. Beautiful marble bathrooms have either walk-in glass showers or separate showers and soaking tubs, along with spacious sink areas, a wide array of C.O. Bigelow toiletries, and terry robes.
Great dining, indoor pool, spa, gym, and extensive meeting space
Park 75 serves an excellent a la carte breakfast and weekend brunch for a fee in an elegant, sophisticated space off the mezzanine level. Snacks, lunch, and dinner are served at the livelier Bar Margot, along with a substantial drink menu featuring a wide array of handcrafted cocktails. The bar is particularly hopping on weekends, when DJ sessions draw guests until late at night. Room service is available 24/7 for a fee.
The indoor saltwater pool is bright and long enough for laps, and features a small whirlpool, free towel service, and a few loungers and couches, including some on an outdoor deck. The spa has 10 massage rooms and a great menu with body treatments, salon services, and packages. Happy hour specials include treatments with a free glass of Prosecco. The gym is spacious and modern, with a wide range of cardio and strength-training machines, personal trainers, and free weights. Guest can use the sauna and the steam room for free.
The hotel has over 15,000 square feet of event space, including indoor and outdoor areas. The largest room measures 5,105 square feet, while there are smaller rooms for more intimate gatherings. There is also a 24-hour business center with computers, printers, and a fax machine.
